I’ll admit one of my more severe cases of geekdom is my downloading of Doctor Who. I got the Christmas Special
the day after it aired, and I’ve watched it twice since then. Try for a third, but was out voted New Years Day.
So, sometime today The next Doctor Who is going to be announced on BBC. I’d give you a time, but when it comes to EST, PST, EDT, GMT and all the rest, I’m the exact opposite of the Doctor. A bit of a time-tard, if you’ll allow.
TV squad says the favorite is Paterson Joseph.
While Aint-It-Cool News is reading an article that’s looking at Chiwetel Ejiofor (No, I don’t know how to pronounce it either.
Rich Johnston of Lying in the Gutters spent most of yesterday twitting on some other potential names, Sean Pertwee, James Nesbith, and Matt Smith seem to be the names bopping around the most.
So, who are these individuals? I have no clue, the only one I really recognize is Chiwetel, from Serenity and Kinky Boots, which some say makes him too big of a star to “step down” to star in a BBC series.
So to bring it home a little bit, if they were, for some reason, to choose an American to play Doctor Who, Who do you think would be a good choice?
And I swear if anyone says Shia Lebouf, I’ll extract your brain with a rusty grapefruit spoon.
One actor I think would be great in the role would be Damian Lewis, from NBC’s Life. His character on that show has very Who-vian characteristics.
((Edit: OF course, that makes sense now that I read he’s English. Doh!))
Who do you think could be the Who who does his HooDoo so well?
