I didn’t get a chance to post on these when they popped up, but I had to comment on them, so here’s what happened last week and this weekend I didn’t mention.
GOOD: Who Watches the Watchmen? We all do.

Luckily Fox and Warner Brothers were able to come to an agreement. Influenced by my impassioned plea, no doubt….. (A guy can hope.) If you want to know the quick and dirty of it:
Fox will get a cut of gross receipts of Watchmen or any sequels or spinoffs — as much as 8.5 percent — which could end up amounting to tens of millions of dollars. The studio also will recoup its development costs and legal fees, which amounts to millions of dollars more.
And as always the real lesson to be learned here, get a cut of the gross, not net.
BAD: Wolverine to get a ‘Donner cut’ Apparently, Wolverine is going under some extensive reshooting. They’re saying it’s due to weather issues, but with complaints of execs getting involved, Richard Donner on the set and Magneto being delayed until they see how Wolverine does. It doesn’t exactly give a ton of hope for this film. As long as the avoid rubber nipple costumes, it still won’t be that bad, right?
And Hugh Jackman says it’s fine. And an Actor would never shoot down a story that could hurt opening week returns right? ((note to self: research adding sarcastic smilies to Wordpress))
UGLY: Cowboy Bebop I wanted to do a clever title for this one, but I think it’s better just left plain and flat, like Keanu Reeves’ acting as he’ll be heading this picture as Spike Spiegel (Who I always mix up cosplayers for Wolfwood from Trigun)

So, it looks like this will be a big Hollywood crap-a-thon, which means they’ll probably make Ein a monkey and Ed an urban youth from the hood. I’m already picturing Tommy Lee Jones as Jet Black, which I wouldn’t mind so much to be honest. But Keanu, really? Well, it’s basically just giving the film the green light. He could back out before a single shot is filmed much like the retch inducing Nicholas Cage Superman and Jack Black Green Lanter. Although if it does come down to Keanu, I guess they could do worse. probably.
