BOOM! STUDIOS
Caped #1 (of 4), $3.99
Incredibles Family Matters #1 (of 4)(Cover A Mr Incredible), $2.99
Muppet Show #1 (of 4)(Cover A), $2.99

Caped seems to be the third book in the span of a month or so to deal with the bastardization of idea of the sidekick. Caped degrades the sidekick to temp/assistant for hire, with Jimmy Lohman vying to be the assistant.
Incredibles: Take a kids movie that’s actually enjoyed by families and is begging for a sequel. (We get Cars 2 but not Incredibles 2? C’mon!) Add amazing character writer Mark Waid, spot on artwork. And Oeming and Mignola covers. This all adds up to sold out before it hit the stands. And with these actually going to bookstores, prepare for a new slew of “Hey Kids, Comics!” headlines for this excellent book.
Same with Muppet Show, pretty much a must purchase or the wife’d kill me.
IMAGE COMICS
Amber Atoms #2, $3.50
American Jesus TP Vol 1 Chosen, $9.99

I remember when Chosen first came out in 2004 from Dark Horse. Interesting concept for a book, but the most impressive thing to me was the covers that were modern pastiches of classic Christ imagery.
It was one the best of Millar’s early “Millarworld” books, compared to Wanted and the Unfunnies.
If you’re interested, you can read the full first issue over at Newsarama, if you can stand their interface, then you’ll be a third of the way done with the TPB.
MARVEL COMICS
Immortal Iron Fist #24, $2.99
New Avengers #51 (Billy Tan Regular Cover)(Dark Reign Tie-In), $3.99
Thunderbolts #130 (Francesco “Matt” Mattina Regular Cover)(Dark Reign Tie-In)(Magnum Opus Part 2), $2.99
I’ve weened off the Dark Reign books, but I’m actually reading New Avengers for the first time since the series began. Thunderbolts is still a great book despite the drop off I was expecting with cast and creator change.
