Matt’s Pull List 4/1/09

manbat-1
1. Battle for the Cowl: Man-Bat #1 (one-shot)

Like I’ve said before, I’m really enjoying the whole BFTC series. The Commissioner Gordon One-Shot was really Good.
In this weeks tie-in, Dr. Langstrom aka The Man-Bat is Confronted by Dr. Phosphorus.
Will The Man-Bat keep fighting to save Gotham City or will he sit back and Watch it Burn?

cable13
2. Cable #13 (X-Force/Cable: Messiah War)

Chapter One of the Crossover Event was Pretty Good. Cable and X-Force are always at the Top of my Pull List.
Here’s what we learned…X-Force is stuck in the year 2973, Deadpool is some how still alive and Cable’s Clone, Stryfe, is Back.

3. Dead of Night: Werewolf by Night #4

This is what a Marvel MAX title should be like! Blood, Guts and Gore.
What will Jack Russell do to Save his infant Daughter? Final issue of the Mini-Series.
I know John has wanted me to do a Review of this Comic. I promise that I’ll do a review of the entire Series.

flashrebirth1
4. Flash: Rebirth #1

From the Creative Team that brought us Green Lantern: Rebirth, Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver.
Barry Allen is back from the Dead. He outran Death in Final Crisis, so now he’s given another shot at life.
In all honesty, if Barry didn’t die in Crisis on Infinite Earths, then the rest of the Multiverse should not exist.
I am looking forward to this Series, Geoff Johns can do no wrong(i.e. Blackest Night).

irredeemable1
5. Irredeemable #1

Written by Comic Book Legend Mark Waid (Kingdom Come is one of my Favorites).
Here’s a question, what would it be like if a Superman decided to become a Super Villain?
I know John has been waiting for this book, I’ll let him Hype you guys up.

trekcountdown4
6. Star Trek: Countdown #4

Prequel to the Upcoming Motion Picture, directed by JJ Abrams.
This Mini-Series takes place afew years after the Star Trek: Nemesis movie.
Spock, Captain Data and Ambassador Picardo must stop Nero before he destroys the Universe.
The comic has been Good and I can’t wait for the Movie on May 8th.

Till Next Week…Keep Reading the Funny Books!

  1. Ben (UK) says:

The Flash is high on my list. I shall be hitting the store today to get my books. Ah, something to cheer me up on a wet and dreary day.

  2. Matt says:

Isn’t always Wet & Dreary in the U.K.?

  3. JM Campbell says:

I was surprised. I wasn’t really expecting much from Flash aside from looking at EVS pretty artwork.

It actually rocked quite a bit. Though I’d have preferred if Barry had come back as a Black Lantern.
