A new season is starting up over at Zuda Comics and lots of people are sending me emails, check this out, check that out.
But I can’t freaking stand the Zuda interface, I hate it more than Newsarama’s comic preview set up.
EDIT::After Richie’s comment below I played with it a bit more. If I put it on full screen and with thumbnails, I hate it significanly less that Newsarama’s preview set up. At least you can jump around the pages.
On the other hand, I’m really loking forward to picking up Bayou as a tpb. I suffered through to read most of High Moon. and Rich Lovatt from Comic by Comic makes one hell of an argument:
I mean, how can you refute that? But still, how much annoyance am I willing to put up with to read a good comic?
Just at first glance, Mecha Simian, Spy6teen, and Pirate Eye look viable from the few pages I read before my eyes begin to wretch uncontrollably. Any standing out to you guys? And what comics are already on there that are worthing putting up with that atrocious interface checking out?

I’ve never been interested in Zuda Comics. They honestly don’t look appealing.
John just loves his Monkeys and Mecha Simian calls to him.
hater.
You hate the interface? Are you using it in FULL SCREEN mode? Because, man – it kicks Marvel Digital’s interface in the f**king teeth! Fast load times! Intuitive design. Zoom in and zoom out features! It’s crazy rad … and I say that as a graphic designed who has spent a decade designing websites.
To answer your other question -
NIGHT OWLS
HIGH MOON
BAYOU
I RULE THE NIGHT
CELADORE
and depending on your cup of tea – SUPERTRON
That’s King of the Haters to you!
Hmm, not exactly an awful interface. As someone who used the Marvel service for about a year I dont see a vast difference between this and that, except that the content on offer is not really my thing.
I think companies going down the route is a good thing though. Being aware that comics are so easy to get online, for free and illegally its time they did something to compete. That or just throw there hands up in defeat.
John – thanks for the Mecha love!
