Please, Transform back to the 80s

June 24th, 2007

Hasbro and Cartoon Network have partnered up to bring Transformers back to the small screen, huzzah, right? That’s the way I felt, until this promo image showed up:

Transformers on Cartoon Network

I love the Tartakovsky style for Powerpuff girls, Samurai Jack, Dexter’s Laboratory, even the Star Wars Cartoons and My Gym Partner’s a Monkey. I love the look, but this? WTF?

Of course, I’ll DVR and watch every episode, because I’m painfully addicted for a 24 year old.

But seriously, anybody, WTF?

Drinky Crow Pilot

May 14th, 2007

Just a quick note, I’ve been recording, should have a new episode up soon. But until then, go over to Adult Swim.com and watch the entire pilot of the Drinky Crow Show based on the comic by Tony Millionaire.

Definitely Adult Swim humour, but not horrible.

Plastic Man Pilot for Cartoon Network?

August 28th, 2006

Watch it on Addicting Clips, since the embedding doesn’t want to work.

Visually it reminds me of Kyle Baker meets Ren & Stimpy, but contextually it’s more along the lines of Freakazoid. But my question is who is this marketed towards? It doesn’t seem to be intelligent enough to appeal to older audiences, but a bit coarse for younger audiences, and parents may object to a hero that’s a parolee.
