A couple interesting, new books from image this week. First the manga-esque Compass. I love the colors of it, bright and cheery, and C.B. has a real fun writing style. should be fun, and has an all ages appeal. I’m not sure what to think of Parade but it is awesome to see someone trying something new with the medium, and a good historic drama, presented solidly is a rough idea to try.

Groo! hits it’s silver anniversary this week. While it started off as a conan parody it grew into something so much bigger. An excellent comedy book, if you’ve never looked at the Groo books, check this one out, and it leads straight into the new Groo: Hell on Earth series coming soon.

I know it’s not an issue one but Buffy Number 6 out this week, is a great jumping on point as the amazingly talented Brian K. Vaughan takes over writing for, at least, an arc. And this issue has Faith’s return. Finally Lobster Johnsongets his own mini in the Hellboy Mythos. Mignola writing, Mignola cover, how can you say no?
