Two new books for DC this week. First up is Countdown to Adventure #1 and is that a NEW Adam Strange? The other is Teen Titans 50, while it’s not a new comic, it is a great jumping on point as new series writer Sean McKeever jumps on. I’m really looking forward to his run on the series.

This Week we have three number ones from Image Comics, Bomb Queen from Jimmie Robinson, which continues to be a fun story about a supervillain at the top of her game. We also get Mice Templar from Michael Avon Oeming, that I’ve been looking forward to for some time. looks like it will be awesome. and the third is Brit #1, which unfortunately I don’t have a preview of, but is character you may have seen as part of Robert Kirkman’s stable of characters in his ‘Invincible’ corner of the Image U.
Solicits and preview pages after the cut.

Dynamite has a new number one for us, New Battlestar Galactica: Season Zero #1. I’m way behind on the new BSG, but it looks pretty nice and with BSG going off the air, D.E. may be your only source BSG. But come on, guys; four covers? Doesn’t it feel a bit excessive? I only included two of the four.

Marvel has 2 number one issues this week, but only sent out preview pages for one of them and that is actually part of the Mystic Arcana series of one-shots meant to reestablish the magic side of the marvel universe. I wanted to pick these up but it wasn’t in the budget on initial ordering (too much good indy stuff) How are the one-shots do they stand alone well? Is it a good story altogether?
The other book Marvel has coming out this week is Halo:Uprising #1, but I’m sure no one will pick that up, right?

Not a lot of previews this week, the only major release being the Surreal Adventures of Edgar Alan Poo, by Dwight Macpherson and Thomas Boatwright. Lots of fun in that creepy kids kind of way, like Nightmare before Christmas or Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.
solicitation and 6 preview pages after the cut.

Marvel only has one first issue coming out next week, and that is Terror, Inc. I was a fan of the old series and can’t wait to see the new one.

Red 5 looks like they’re setting themselves up as the new kid on the block. Starting out a bit like Speakeasy, Deep in the Previews Catalogue (which can cause ordering issues) but really high quality books. When I saw them in the new previews, I knew I would have to get my hands on these books. Imagine my joy when they sent me previews. Remember these books won’t be out until October, but man do they look sharp and since we already get pages, most likely they won’t fall behind.
So, after the cut see preview pages of Abyss (Vbyss?) #1, Atomic Robo #1, and Neozoic #1.
And if you like what you see print out this Order Form(PDF) and take it to you favorite Comics Shop, or order through your favorite Online Comics Retailer. Red 5 recommends Things From Another World, I prefer Discount Comic Book Service.
