Comics Meme

May 29th, 2007

01) Savage Dragon is the first comic book I really got into.
02) Invincible is one of the comics I currently collect.
03) Green Lantern is one of my all-time favourite superheroes.
04) Fell is my favourite non-superhero comic.
05) Venom is a very overrated character
06) Michael Turner is, in my opinion, a very overrated comic artist.
07) Warren Ellis is one of my favourite comic book writers.
08) DragonCon 2006 is a happy comic book memory for me.
09) Joseph Michael Linsner is awesome at drawing female characters.
10) Phil Hester is one of my all-time favourite comic artists.
11) Mike Norton is an artist I’d love to see drawing a monthly series.
12) Preacher is a comic I’ve meant to read, but haven’t done so yet.
13) Green Lantern Corps is a welcome ’80s comeback.
14) Batman is a comic I’ve never read or paid much attention to.
15) Superman is a popular character I’ve never really paid attention to.
16) Wasteland is a title I would recommend to my friends.
17) Doom is one of my favourite comic villains.
18) 300 is a comic I’m glad they made into a movie/movie franchise.
19) Catwoman is a comic they totally ruined by making it into a movie.
20) Warren Ellis is someone I would really love to meet at a comic convention.
21) … is a character I can see myself being for Halloween.
22) Fallen Angel is a comic I used to love, but now I’m not so hot about.
23) Bryan Lee O’Malley is someone I would love to work on a comic book with.
24) $4.25 is the most I’ll spend on a 22-page (average sized) comic.
25) Crossgen is something/someone they should bring back.

Found this meme on someone’s livejournal figured I’d fill it out. If you want to pass it on, just replace the bolded elements with your own.

Biff! Pow! A Well Written Major Media Article about Comics

May 28th, 2007

Hollywood comics
The NY Times has an interesting article about Comics adapting Hollywood tools for comics creation. And granted the information in it is actually reading, but I have to say, what interested me most about the article was that it was in a major metro (national?) newspaper and didn’t use the standard media cop out onomatopoeias that usually pollute comic headlines. Good job, NY Times.

As for the actual content of the article. Read the rest of this entry »

Drinky Crow Pilot

May 14th, 2007

Just a quick note, I’ve been recording, should have a new episode up soon. But until then, go over to Adult Swim.com and watch the entire pilot of the Drinky Crow Show based on the comic by Tony Millionaire.

Definitely Adult Swim humour, but not horrible.

Serenity Jeanne Campbell

May 2nd, 2007

This is why I’ve been lax with the Podcast lately (like I need a reason, right?)

first baby picture

Everyone say hello to Serenity Jeanne Campbell, the little girl born May 1, 2007 at 5:38PM.

My daughter. That seems so weird to say.
